Hello hello
First of all, we would like to welcome you!
If you're new, please read this Bible carefully, it explains everything you need to know to get started at Codifly.
About your accounts
Microsoft Account
With the start of your contract we have created your Codifly Microsoft-account. You can access your Microsoft-account with firstname.lastname@codifly.be and the password that was provided to you by HR. After logging in you will have access to mail, OneDrive, Teams (we use Microsoft Teams as a communication platform within)...Codifly
Gitlab Account
Through the same account you will have access to our development collaboration platform Gitlab (you will only use this extensively if you have a technical function, though). In exceptional situations where single sign-on via Microsoft is not an option, such as for cloning a repo via HTTPS (which we discourage), you can use your email address firstname.lastname@codifly.be and the Gitlab-password that was provided to you by HR.
Practical stuff
First things first
On your first day we will give you a badge. With this badge you can enter the office safely. If you are the first one to arrive, you must first hold your badge against the black number box. You can now open the door. When you enter the office, you will hear an alarm. You simply have to hold your badge against the alarm system at the inside of the office (left) and push the green button. If you forget this and the alarm goes off, you can still hold your badge against the system en press the green unlock button.
Via 1Password, you can find the credentials of our WiFi-network.
Our HR Manager will show you around in our brand new office and show you where to find the snacks, how the coffee machine works and especially where not to throw your dishes.
You will also get your personal stuff, including your MacBook, yay!
Machine setup
After you received your Codifly Macbook, you should first configure it. You can find the needed steps in this bible, in the section Configuring your Mac (for everyone) and the section Getting started (for developers). If you have a technical function, please perform all lessons (1-3) of the Track "Getting started" in het Codifly Coding Crash Course.
Note: in case you use your own device (for example, if you are an external team member), consider going through the steps to see which information is useful for you.
1Password
This step is only relevant if you received 1Password information (the domain, an e-mail address, a master password and a secret key). Otherwise, skip this step.
You can log in via the 1Password Web App with the information that was provided to you. Please remark the .eu-extension when logging in.
Since the web app is not very useful, please also install the desktop app. It's important that you install version 7 of 1Password!
After you have installed 1Password correctly, please move your personal account entries, residing in the Dev-vault, to your own personal Primary vault. We want to stress this point of moving your entries! For some reason, only a minority actually does this and as long as you have not moved your entries, everybody has access to your accounts. After moving your entries, please also change your passwords of the accounts that were created for you.
Google Account
In any case, after setting up your machine, please create your personal Google Account. You will need this account for registering your working hours in our Google Timesheet.
Note: we do not use a corporate Google account, so you create a personal one. You do, however, use your @codifly.be email address. Always save your login and password in 1Password!

Your personal branding material
Via 1Password, you can find the credentials of our network share (Codifly - Box - user (network share)). Paste the AFP-link in your finder to activate.
STEP 1:

STEP 2:

Your personal branding material, including your company photo, email signature, resume... can be found on this network share. Please configure your email signature and photo (as soon as it is taken and edited by our designer) on all platforms and all devices.
Your first week
On your first day you will be busy with the setup of your MacBook. You will get to know your mentor. He or she will be your go-to-person for questions, concerns... He/she will guide you through our Bible and will whisper the name of the person in front of you when you forgot it.
You can also expect an HR-session with our HR Manager and some administrative questions from Carina, our Office Manager.
On the second day you can follow your first stand up at 10:30 am. You will meet the whole team.
The third day you have to follow our "Codifly Coding Crash Course" and make the excercises. You will meet your PM and get to know more about Codifly and our projects.
If you have a technical function, Arvid will have a learning session with you for your technical onboarding.
Our designer or PM, will take your company photo in your first week. Please match your clothing style with the other photo's found on our website. In any case, avoid white as it makes it difficult to separate a person from the background in Photoshop.
